Blinkit manager, brother robbed of laptops, iPhone worth ₹94,000 in Ahmedabad house theft

Two laptops, two mobile phones and other electronic items collectively worth over ₹94,000 were allegedly stolen from a house in Khadia area after an unidentified thief reportedly entered through an open window during the early hours of Monday.

According to Khadia police, Mihir Sharma, 28, a manager with Blinkit, stated that the incident took place between 2 am and 7 am on May 18 at his residence near Raipur Chakla.

Sharma told police that he had returned to Ahmedabad from Vadodara with his family late on Sunday night. After completing office work along with his younger brother Priyank Sharma, both brothers kept their laptops and mobile phones on a bed inside the house before going to sleep.

Mihir Sharma and his wife slept on the terrace due to the heat, while his mother and younger brother slept downstairs. Around 7 am, his mother reportedly discovered that the electronic devices kept inside the room were missing.

The stolen items included an company laptop worth ₹30,000, another laptop worth ₹22,000 belonging to his brother, an iPhone 15 valued at ₹25,000 and another phone worth ₹17,000, besides three HP pen drives.

Police said the complainant suspects that an unidentified thief entered the second-floor house through an open window and stole the gadgets while the family members were asleep.

Khadia police have registered a case against an unknown person and further investigation is on.
