BJP’s well-to-do Rajya Sabha candidates for Guj, from party prez to ‘diamond king’

Recently, BJP fielded a list of four of its candidates. The list includes prominent figures in the political and business circuits. As per the rules, all four candidates disclosed their properties and income.

Properties of the candidates:

Govind Dholakia

Dholakia, a prominent name often referred to as the ‘diamond king’ in the inner circle, has property and assets worth ₹210.59 cr, out of which ₹171.57 cr are under his name and ₹39.02 cr is under his wife’s name.

As per the documents submitted, Dholakia doesn’t have a car registered in his name. He has 7.5 kgs of gold and 13 kgs of silver listed under his properties, while his wife owns 5 kgs of gold and diamond jewellery.

The mutual funds, shares, and debentures of his company stack up a hefty sum of ₹41.02 cr. He also has a debt of ₹12.60 cr on him.

JP Nadda

The total assets of JP Nadda are found to be to the tune of ₹64.73 lakh, while the property named after his wife is worth ₹1.32 cr.

The BJP president possesses cash worth ₹43 lakh and bank deposits worth ₹41.74 lakh. He also owns 2,476 acres of land in Himachal Pradesh.

63-year-old Nadda owns Toyota’s Innova and Fortuner cars. He pays an annual income tax of ₹23 lakh.

Mayank Nayak and Dr Jashvantsinh Parmar

Mayank Nayak and Dr Jashvantsinh Parmar, both, have disclosed owning Webley Scott-made England revolvers.

Nayak has disclosed a property worth ₹2.86 cr. His wife and he collectively own 9 kgs of silver and 3.2 kgs of gold, including jewellery. They also have a collective bank deposit of ₹71.81 lakh and shares-funds worth ₹30 lakh.

He has a debt of ₹40.14 lakh on him. He owns two cars, a Toyota Fortuner and a Mahindra Thar.

Dr Parmar owns immovable assets worth ₹3.66 cr, alongside bank deposits of ₹40 lakh and ₹2 cr belonging to him and his wife, respectively. He owns a Nissan and an Audi car. His wife and he collectively own 0.910 kg of gold.

All four of the candidates are found to have no police case registered against them, yet.
