BJP workers vandalise Kalol Municipality office in protest

BJP workers in the BJP-run Kalol Municipality caused a disturbance on September 5 at the office of BJP Chairman in protest against the perceived mismanagement of funds allocated for the development of the roads.
The protest came amidst heavy rainfall this year and ongoing infrastructure issues across the state, with workers in Kalol frustrated by the delay in road repairs.
The municipality had received a grant of ₹7.30 crore for road repairs, however, the grant was allegedly mismanaged, leading to unrest among the local BJP workers.
Young BJP workers, led by local leaders, stormed the municipality office, accusing the Chairman of neglecting development work. They forcibly entered the Chairman’s chamber, causing damage to property. Police had to intervene to restore order.
The workers claimed that the delay in the tender process for road repairs, which should have started soon after the monsoon, was part of the reason for their dissatisfaction. They argued that despite the funds being allocated for development, the work had not progressed as expected.
The incident highlighted the frustration among BJP members regarding the management of municipal development projects and their impact on public services.
