BJP worker sparks chaos over chair during SIR in Ahmedabad, accused of assault, threats

During the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Ahmedabad’s Ambawadi area, a BJP worker allegedly assaulted a man and threatened to kill him over a dispute involving a chair. The shocking incident happened at the Sahajanand College election ward.
As per the complaint, Manish Shah and his wife Dhariniben had gone to fill election-related forms. A BJP worker, Shriram Modi, who was seated near the BLO, objected when Manish sat on the chair.
Modi allegedly slapped Manish and began arguing. When Dhariniben questioned the behaviour, Modi allegedly threatened to run them over with his car, claiming his political connections would protect him.
Before police arrived, Modi fled. Satellite police have registered an FIR against him. A cross-complaint was also filed by Modi against Dhariniben, accusing her of falsely implicating him.
Questions have also been raised over a party worker being allowed to sit beside the BLO during official election work.
