BJP leader Nitin Patel’s controversial statement stirs up politics in Gujarat
Former Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel has made a shocking statement, saying that even ‘politics is now full of middlemen’. His remarks have created a stir within the party. Nitin Patel stated, “Political middlemen introduce themselves as BJP office bearers, workers, or leaders and build relationships with officials."
Attacks on the BJP government
Patel made these remarks at the Amrut Mahotsav and inauguration ceremony of the new building of Damodar Jivram Patel Nutan Vidyalaya in Daran village of Kadi Taluka, Mehsana. He said, “There are many middlemen in politics today. They establish connections with officials by claiming to be BJP office bearers, workers, or leaders, expecting officials to complete their work quickly. This BJP government has greatly benefited such middlemen, making them immensely wealthy through their dealings.”
Patel’s statement has caused turmoil within the party, as it comes from a senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister. His comments against the BJP government have further intensified the political atmosphere. Meanwhile, people are speculating about whom Patel was referring to.
Yagnesh Dave’s damage control
Responding to the controversy, BJP leader Yagnesh Dave said, “Nitin Patel is a seasoned leader who would never make allegations against the party or its workers. His statement is clear—he was referring to those who misuse the party’s name to pressure officials. His remarks are directed specifically at such individuals.”
