Alleged Assault During Ganpati Arrival

The complainant, Sagar Kishorebhai Rana, a collection agent at a private finance company, said he had gone with his friends to Mission Naka on Friday night to watch the arrival of the Vishwaraj Ganesh Mandal. Around 10 pm, Raju Jadav, Raju Mohite and Raju Dolvan allegedly took him towards the parking area of a nearby shop.

According to Rana's complaint, Jadav allegedly grabbed him by the collar, abused him and slapped him. He further alleged that Jadav, Mohite and Dolvan punched him. Rana also alleged that Jadav threatened to break his hands and legs and kill him.

Police Complaint Filed

Rana said he left the spot on a bike belonging to an unknown person and later went towards the Tichakpura bypass. He then reached the gate of the sugar factory with his friends and contacted the police control room, claiming that he feared further trouble.

Police have registered a complaint against Jadav, Mohite and Dolvan over allegations including voluntarily causing hurt, abuse and threats. Raju Jadav is the brother of Dilip Jadhav, who is the chairman of the Construction Committee of Vyara Municipality. It is also learnt that Jadav has filed a counter-complaint. Police are investigating both sides of the incident.
