BJP leader among 3 held for trapping driver by planting drugs in school van

In a shocking development related to a drug case involving a school van near Rahadpor village in Bharuch, startling details have emerged. It has been found that a BJP leader, allegedly in collusion with the village sarpanch’s husband and a minority morcha leader, planted drugs worth ₹4 lakh in the school van, leading to the driver’s arrest. The police have now arrested the sarpanch’s husband, a Vadodara-based drug supplier, and BJP leader in connection with the case.
According to the information, the Special Operations Group (SOG) police seized 62 grams of MD drugs, along with 5-gram drug packaging pouches and a weighing scale, from the school van driver, Prakash Ambalal Patel, who was then arrested. During remand, there was no evidence found that Patel was involved in drug trafficking or that he obtained the drugs from anyone. Patel later alleged that he was set up by the village sarpanch.
Following this, the police summoned and interrogated the sarpanch’s husband, Gulam Farid Abdullah Patel, who is the former deputy sarpanch and a BJP minority morcha leader, along with Ahmed Khan aka Shah Rukh Pathan from Rahadpor village. Detailed questioning and examination of mobile call data records (CDRs) revealed that they had conspired over the past two months to frame Patel.
They had planned to pay ₹4 lakh to Pathan to plant the drugs in the school van, of which ₹3.5 lakh was already provided. The investigation also uncovered that Pathan bought the drugs from Aftab aka Appu Sikandar Sheikh in Vadodara, who was also arrested.
In response to the arrests, Maruti Singh Atodariya, BJP district president, stated via telephone that if anyone from their party is found guilty in the MD drugs case, they will be suspended
