A complaint was filed with the Patdi police station against two young women and five other individuals, for allegedly honey-trapping a former member of the district council and BJP leader, demanding ₹10 lakh from him.

The leader was allegedly trapped in a honey trap by a young woman who threatened to make a video viral and demanded a ransom of ₹10 lakhs.

The woman, Malti, used to contact Natu (Natuji) Pathubhai Iloriya, a former Surendranagar district panchayat member, from September 2024 to February 2025.

She sent various photos of young women via WhatsApp and engaged in conversations over the phone. Malti met Iloriya in person and used video calls to lure him, taking ₹5,000 in cash. A woman (22) was sent to the complainant's location at Iloriya's farm near Patdi’s Phulki Chowk.

Later, the woman sent by Malti allegedly attempted to force the complainant into a sexual act and secretly recorded a video of the incident on his phone.

Malti then shared the video with Imran and Dashrath Patel and coordinated with Bharat Thakkar to demand a ransom of ₹10 lakhs from the complainant. She also threatened to falsely implicate him in a rape case and tarnish his reputation if the money was not paid.

The complainant filed a report with the Patdi police station, naming Malti, another woman, Imran, Dashrathbhai Bhalabhai Patel, and Bharat Thakkar.

The police have initiated further investigation. The incident has caused a stir in local politics as a BJP leader has fallen victim to the honey trap, sparking intense discussions.
