BJP announces star campaigners for Kadi, Visavadar bypolls

By-elections are set to be held for the Kadi and Visavadar Assembly constituencies in Gujarat. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have now announced star campaigners for both seats after the announcement of candidates on Monday. 

The bypolls for these constituencies are scheduled for June 19, with results to be announced on June 23.

The list of star campaigners includes top Gujarat leaders such as President of BJP Gujarat CR Patil, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, former CM Vijay Rupani, Home Minister of Gujarat Harsh Sanghavi, among a total of 40 campaigners.

Kadi constituency:

BJP has nominated Rajendra Daneshwar Chavda, a veteran party worker from Jotana in Mehsana district. He holds a BA degree and began his political journey in 1972 with the Jan Sangh. A member of BJP since December 6, 1980, Chavda also served as a Taluka Panchayat member in Mehsana from 1981 to 1986. Known for his grassroots connections and party loyalty, he is seen as a steady choice.

Visavadar constituency:

BJP has selected Kirit Balubhai Patel for Visavadar bypolls. The party is positioning him as a strong local face capable of maintaining its influence in the region amidst growing competition from other parties.

The Visavadar seat became vacant after Bhupat Bhayani resigned from AAP and joined the BJP. Meanwhile, the Kadi seat was vacated due to the demise of sitting MLA Karshan Solanki.
