BJP announces new mayors, key office-bearers in Gujarat municipal corporations

The process of appointing new office-bearers in municipal corporations across Gujarat gathered pace on Tuesday, with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announcing names for key posts including mayor, deputy mayor and standing committee chairman in several civic bodies.

The names of the new office-bearers for the Rajkot Municipal Corporation and Vadodara Municipal Corporation were officially declared, while the process of appointing office-bearers is also underway in municipal corporations including Valsad-Vapi, Surendranagar, Bhavnagar and Anand-Karamsad.
