Three men sustained injuries after they were allegedly attacked with knives by four assailants riding on two motorcycles near Sonal Char Rasta in Juhapura, Ahmedabad on Sunday evening.

An FIR filed at Vejalpur Police Station by Aman Sheikh (24), a car washer from Juhapura, stated that he, along with his friends Mohammad Saheed and Mohammad Sultan, was travelling on his Suzuki Burgman towards Juhapura when the incident took place.

Around 6.15 pm, a black Activa scooter intercepted their bike and forced them to pull over. One of the three men on the Activa allegedly claimed he was going to 'seize' Aman’s two-wheeler, pulled out a knife from his pocket and stabbed him on the back and chest. When Aman tried to resist, the assailant allegedly struck him again with the intent to kill.

The FIR further notes that the other two men on the Activa also brandished knives and hurled abuses, while Aman’s friends attempted to shield him. During the scuffle, Sultan sustained a deep cut on his left hand, while Saheed suffered an injury to his right hand. A fourth man, riding a Splendour motorcycle, is also accused of joining the assault and verbally abusing the victims before fleeing the scene along with the others.

Passers-by called the 108 emergency service, and all three victims were rushed to Sola Civil Hospital. Doctors confirmed that Aman suffered a serious wound requiring nine stitches, Sultan received four stitches on his hand, while Saheed sustained minor abrasions.

Police have registered a case of attempt to murder, assault, and abuse against the unidentified assailants under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

A senior police official said, “We have recorded the statements of the victims. Efforts are on to trace the accused based on technical inputs and eyewitness accounts. The registration numbers of the scooters could not be identified, but teams are working on CCTV footage from the area.”

The investigation has been handed over to the crime branch team for further probe.
