Biker assaulted, vehicle seized in broad daylight in Sarangpur

In a broad daylight robbery, a 23-year-old man was allegedly assaulted with a stick and his motorcycle forcibly snatched by an unidentified person near Sarangpur Circle. The victim, Rushabh Chauhan, has filed a formal complaint with the Kalupur police station.

As per the complaint, the incident occurred around 3.30 pm on June 20. Chauhan, a resident of Motera area and an employee at Gayatri Trading Company near Koteshwar Temple, was riding his blue Honda motorcycle when an unknown man suddenly appeared in front of his vehicle on the public road near Sarangpur Circle.

Chauhan stated that the motorcycle barely touched the man, following which the unidentified person began hurling abuses at him. Despite Chauhan's efforts to pacify the situation, the man reportedly grew more aggressive. He then allegedly assaulted Chauhan with a stick and forcefully snatched the motorcycle from his possession before fleeing the scene.

The stolen two-wheeler is valued at approximately ₹75,000. The vehicle is also under a loan from Shriram Finance Ltd Chauhan later returned home to collect the vehicle’s registration documents and insurance papers before approaching the police to complain.

On June 29, the Kalupur police registered the case under relevant sections of assault, robbery, and criminal intimidation. 

Senior police offiicals of Kalupur police station stated that, “An application was taken initially as the victim didn’t had the RC book and proper document of his vehicle, later when the document was provided, an FIR was lodged."
