A woman leaving for Maharashtra’s Amravati from Ahmedabad was taken on a train by a man who claimed to know her husband and was later robbed, beaten, and raped by him, along with another man, multiple times.

The woman was taken to Chikuwadi area of Mota Varachha in Surat by the accused.

The police have arrested two men who raped the woman in front of her four-year-old son one after the other.

37-year-old Jalpa (name changed) from Bhavnagar-Palitana had reached Ahmedabad three days ago by taking a bus and was heading Maharashtra’s Amravati with her four-year-old son via train from Ahmedabad station.

At Ahmedabad station, she met Haresh, who was accompanied by children and a woman. Haresh told Jalpa that he knew her husband and was also traveling to Maharashtra. 

During the journey, Haresh asked Jalpa and her son to deboard the train on the pretext of having breakfast at Udhna station. However, the train left without them, following which, Haresh took Jalpa and her son under the overbridge at Mota Varachha Chikuwadi.

There, Haresh left Jalpa waiting as he went to drop the children and the woman accompanying him.

When he came back, he beat Jalpa, robbed her of her mobile phone and cash worth ₹3,500 and then raped her.

Jalpa, who was shaken by Haresh’s actions, was later attacked by a young man named Shankar took her to an unknown place and raped her. 

The next day, Haresh and Shankar again raped her one after other in span of two hours.

Later, a passerby saw her by the roadside and called the control room. Following which, the Utran police rushed and took her to the New Civil Hospital for treatment, where the doctor’s interrogation revealed that she had been double raped.
