Bhadarvi Purnima Fair 2024: Devotee turnout plummets from 45 lakh to 27 lakh

As the Bhadarvi Purnima fair at the Shaktipeeth Ambaji is concluding today, more than 27 lakh devotees have paid a visit. The number, however, is less compared to the previous year.

The number of devotees is likely to exceed 31 lakh today. However, compared to last year, there has been a decline in the number of pilgrims. Last year, more than 45.54 lakh devotees turned up at the pilgrimage site.

On the sixth day of the Bhadarvi Poonam fair at Ambaji, 4,57,000 pilgrims were registered. This brings the total number of pilgrims to 26.92 lakh.

On September 17, a total of 280 flag-hoisting ceremonies took place, bringing the total to 2,781.

Last year, 3,377 flag-hoisting ceremonies took place. The total number of passengers using Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) buses was 4.39 lakh, with 81,682 passengers recorded on September 17.

The total number of bus trips recorded was 10,036, averaging 44 passengers per bus trip.

On September 17, a total of 74,780 pilgrims were offered Prasad meal service. This brings the total to 4,41,000.

A total of 16.61 Mohanthal Prasad packets and 30,366 Chikki Prasad packets were distributed. Thus, the distribution of Chikki Prasad packets was five times lower than that of Mohanthal Prasad packets. Last year, 18.41 lakh Mohanthal Prasad packets were distributed.

On the other hand, last year, the income from donations, offerings, and gifts was ₹6.89 crore, while this year, in six days, the income stands at ₹2.28 crore.

The gold donation last year was 520 grams, whereas this year it has been 29 grams, so far.
