Bees swarm GUJCET centre in Mehsana, 200 students shifted
In a strange but concerning incident in a Mehsana school, honeybees swarmed an exam centre where the Gujarat Common Entrance Exam (GUJCET) was being conducted on Sunday.
As per reports, nearly two hours before the GUJCET exam at Uma Sanskar Vidhyalaya, Radhanpur road in Mehsana, honeybees swarmed the examination hall, causing chaos.
As per the district education officer of Mehsana, it was not possible to even stand outside the gate of the exam centre. So, with the approval of Gujarat State Education Board, the centre was immediately changed to Gyanmanjari Primary School, which is 60 metres away from the original centre. There were 200 students in 10 blocks at the Uma Sanskar Vidhyalaya centre.
A total of 1.29 lakh students appeared for the exam. It was held across 35 centres, 638 schools, and 6,549 blocks. Among the examinees, 49,175 students were from Group A, 80,151 from Group B, and 380 students appeared for Group A-B.
Out of these, 1.09 lakh students belonged to the Gujarat Board, 17,789 were from CBSE, and 17 students were from outside India. Overall, the exam was considered to be easy, although some questions in Chemistry and Physics were reported to be confusing for students.
Out of 1,29,706 registered students, a total of 1,26,281 students appeared for the examination.
In the Physics-Chemistry paper, a total of 3,684 students appeared out of 1,29,965 registered students.
A total of 4,555 students were absent out of 83,037 in Biology paper and 1,655 students were absent out of 49,684 in Mathematics.
