Banaskantha receives record 8 inch rain in 8 hours, red alert in other parts

Even as heavy rains lashed the whole state, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert in a few areas including Junagadh, Rajkot, Jamnagar, and Amreli.
Rains in Junagadh have reached alarming levels, causing serious situations across the district, including populated areas such as Manavadar and Visavadar.
Moreover, Banaskantha’s Lakhani received a staggering 8.3 inches of torrential rain between 6 am and 2 pm today. Heavy rains caused large-scale waterlogging in many markets and low-lying areas, causing traffic jams at many places.
Moreover, rainfall has been recorded in more than 157 talukas of the state from 6 am to 2 pm today.
The IMD has issued a red alert in Navsari, Surat, and Valsad. In addition, an orange alert has also been issued in many parts of North Gujarat and Saurashtra.
