Baby girl delivered aboard moving train near Ahmedabad with help from fellow passengers

A pregnant woman gave birth to a baby girl aboard the Jabalpur-Somnath Express on Tuesday after she went into labour while the train was travelling between Ahmedabad and Viramgam, as per reports.
The woman, who was reportedly travelling with her husband began experiencing labour pain shortly after the train departed from Ahmedabad station.
After the woman went into labour on the train, her husband and fellow passengers reportedly alerted the on-duty ticket examiner, Ramjeevan Kumar. By then, the train had passed Chandlodia station and was en-route to Viramgam, its next scheduled stop.
According to Western Railway's Bhavnagar division, Kumar immediately informed the commercial control office and arranged bedsheets and other essential assistance. As the woman's labour pain intensified, several women passengers came forward to help, and the baby was safely delivered inside the coach. The woman gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
Following the delivery, railway authorities coordinated medical assistance in advance of the train's arrival at Viramgam station. An ambulance and medical team were kept ready, and with the consent of the woman's husband, both mother and newborn were taken to the government hospital in Viramgam for further examination and care.
As per reports, the doctors later confirmed that both were in stable condition. Railway officials said the ticket examiner continued to assist the family after the birth, arranging refreshments and maintaining communication with control staff to ensure timely medical support.
