Auto driver found dead inside vehicle in Vejalpur, health issues suspected

A 42-year-old auto-rickshaw driver was found dead inside his vehicle near Kalasagar Society in the Vejalpur area of Ahmedabad on Saturday morning. The deceased has been identified as Nilesh Sarvaiya, who according to police, had been battling medical issues.
Local residents spotted Sarvaiya unconscious inside his parked auto-rickshaw and immediately alerted Vejalpur police around 6 am. Upon reaching the spot, the police found him unresponsive and coordinated with emergency services to have his body transported to the hospital via a 108 ambulance.
Preliminary investigation suggests that Sarvaiya may have succumbed to health complications. According to Vejalpur police, both his legs were found swollen, indicating possible underlying medical conditions. No signs of external injuries or foul play have been reported so far.
“We were informed early in the morning by locals who saw the man lying motionless inside his auto. His brother-in-law was contacted, and the body has been sent for post-mortem. The exact cause of death will be known after the medical formalities are completed,” said a police official.
Sarvaiya is believed to have parked his auto near Kalasagar Society late Friday night before collapsing inside. The vehicle remained parked in the same spot until residents noticed the situation and raised the alarm.
Further investigation is underway, and police are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the cause of death conclusively.
