Auto, car collision leaves 4 dead on Idar–Bhiloda National Highway in Sabarkantha

A collision between an auto-rickshaw and a car resulted in the death of four persons near Revas village on the Idar–Bhiloda National Highway. The accident was reported from Sabarkantha district in the early hours of Tuesday.

Upon receiving information, on police rushed to the spot and initiated legal proceedings. The bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem, and further investigation into the incident is under way.

Locals were up in arms against the contractor and concerned authorities following the accident. They alleged that incomplete and slow-paced highway construction work had resulted in the deadly accident.

Residents have cited poor planning, lack of safety measures, and negligence by the contractor that have led to repeated accidents and frequent chaos on the highway. Multiple representations made earlier to senior officials has fallen on deaf ears, with no improvement in the pace or quality of work seen.

Police are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident.
