In a horrific case of animal cruelty in Mehsana’s Kadi taluka, at least 15 cows died due to lack of food due to a lack of food and proper facilities at Radha Krushna Panjrapol Trust.
Based on the complaint of gaurakshaks, the deputy superintendent of police at Bavlu Police Station and his team rushed to Thol, where cows were being kept in pitiful conditions.
The owner of panjrapol, Jay Soni, used to charge ₹1,500 per stray cow in Mehsana and has over 1,000 cows at his panjrapol.
On Saturday, around 15-20 dead cows were transported via tractor. The police found the carcasses dumped along a muddy road. They also found many cows in the panjrapol who were sick and in need of urgent medical attention.
The cows will now be shifted to another panjrapol, as per a police official.
