Around 3.5 lakh cusecs of water to be released into Mahisagar river from Wanakbori dam, villages on alert

Due to heavy rainfall in the upper catchment areas, the process of releasing around 3.5 lakh cusecs of water from Kadana and Panam dams has begun.
This water will flow directly towards Wanakbori dam and subsequently be released into the Mahisagar river. According to Kheda District Collector Amit Prakash Yadav, the river’s water level is expected to rise significantly by around 11.30 pm on Thursday.
In view of the situation, the collectors of Kheda and Anand districts have issued urgent advisories.
Villages along the riverbanks have been put on alert, and people have been strictly warned not to venture into the riverbed. Authorities are working to create awareness among residents to ensure safety and prevent any possible loss of life or property.
Residents living near the river have been urged to remain cautious, be prepared for evacuation if necessary, and strictly follow government instructions.
