At least 25,000 admissions in St. Xavier's College remains pending, as the college's lawsuit against the Gujarat Common Admission Services (GCAS) admission portal still continues in court. The hearing on the matter has been postponed until Thursday, which led to further delaying in the admission process for thousands of students.

The admission process at Ahmedabad's one of the top St. Xavier's College continues to remain uncertain as the ongoing dispute between the college and the Gujarat government’s GCAS portal is yet to be resolved.

More than 3,000 students have registered through the college's own admission portal, while over 22,000 students have selected St. Xavier's College through the GCAS portal for various undergraduate courses. Many of these students have also received admission offers through the first round of GCAS allotment. However, the college has not accepted admissions through the state-run portal, leaving applicants in uncertainty.

Several students who are eligible for admission based on merit are also awaiting a final decision, as it remains unclear whether the college will proceed with admissions through its own process or follow the GCAS framework. The matter is currently pending before the High Court, which has postponed the hearing until Thursday.

Meanwhile, the second round of undergraduate seat allotment under GCAS scheduled for Tuesday and the state government has included 24 newly approved colleges in the second round of GCAS admissions, allowing students to opt for these institutions while St. Xavier's issue remains unresolved.
