As part of the Government of India's Bullet Train Project, steel bridge construction and bridge-shifting work will be carried out on the Anupam (Apparel Park) Bridge between Kankaria and Anupam Cinema in Ahmedabad. The work is being taken under the Sabarmati-to-Vatva section of the project.

Due to the construction activity, the carriageway of the Anupam/Kankaria Bridge from Anupam Cinema towards Kankaria will remain completely closed to vehicular traffic from midnight 2 am to 6 am on June 3, June 5, June 10, June 13 and June 14.

The closure is required for phased erection, launching and dismantling work related to the bridge. Authorities said a traffic diversion plan for the project had earlier been approved in February but the work could not be undertaken at that time due to technical reasons.

Diversion routes

The entire carriageway of Anupam/Kankaria Bridge from Anupam Cinema towards Kankaria will remain closed to all vehicular traffic during the scheduled work hours.

Vehicles heading towards Kankaria should divert from Maharana Pratap (Kangaroo) Circle via Madarasi Mandir, Jhagadia Bridge and Dedki Garden.

Vehicles travelling towards Khokhra, Hatkeshwar and CTM from the Anupam Bridge side should take the route via Dedki Garden Crossroads, Siddhivinayak Circle, Railway Colony Three Roads, LG Chowki Junction and Jhagadia Bridge.

Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly and use the designated diversion routes to avoid congestion during the construction period.
