Anti-social elements storm AMC swimming pool in Saraspur, video goes viral

A video showing a group of anti-social elements creating chaos at an Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) swimming pool near Potlia Char Rasta in Saraspur late at night has gone viral on social media.

According to the video, around 10 to 15 youths allegedly entered the swimming pool premises despite the facility being closed. The group was seen playing Gujarati songs at high volume and bathing in the pool, causing a disturbance.

Sources said the individuals reportedly gained access either by scaling the rear wall of the swimming pool complex or by intimidating security personnel stationed at the main gate. 

Local sources claim similar incidents have occurred three to four times at the same location in the past. Despite repeated written and verbal complaints to officials of the civic body, no effective action has been taken so far.

Questions have also been raised over security arrangements at the facility, as the large municipal complex reportedly does not have a single CCTV camera installed despite repeated breaches.

Meanwhile, AMC authorities have not yet filed any police complaint regarding the incident, despite it occurring on government property.
