ANTF seizes cannabis worth ₹6 lakh from Poshina village in Sabarkantha, one arrested

The Anti Narcotics Task Force Gujarat (ANTF) has seized cannabis worth ₹6.38 lakh during a raid conducted in the Wdi area of Vinchhi village in Poshina taluka of Sabarkantha district and arrested one person in connection with the case.
According to officials, the operation was carried out on May 17 by a team of the ANTF, CID Crime and Railways, Gujarat, acting on specific intelligence inputs regarding illegal cultivation and storage of marijuana in the area.
During the search operation, the ANTF team allegedly discovered 8.060 kilograms of green marijuana plants cultivated on agricultural land belonging to the accused. Officials also recovered 4.700 kilograms of dried marijuana from the accused’s residence.
The accused was identified as Maknabhai Anabhai Gamar, 53, a resident of Vinchhi village in Poshina taluka.
Police said the seized green cannabis was valued at approximately ₹4.03 lakh, while the dried marijuana recovered from the residence was estimated to be worth ₹ 2.35 lakh, taking the total value of seized contraband to ₹6.38 lakh.
A case has been registered against the accused under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The complaint in the matter was lodged by PSI D.B. Solanki of the ANTF, CID Crime, Gandhinagar. Further investigation is being carried out jointly by Kheroj Police Station and the ANTF team.
