India’s Border Security Force (BSF) detained a Pakistani couple near Kuda in the Rann region of Gujarat’s Rapar, Kutch, and handed them over to Balasar Police for further inquiry.
The duo has been identified as Popat Natthu (24) and Gauri alias Gulab Mungriyo (20), both residents of Mithi in Sindh.
This is the second such incident in the region in 45 days. Earlier, on October 8, a Pakistani couple identified as ‘Toto’ and ‘Meena’ had crossed the border and reached Ratanpar village. Initial police inquiry suggested they were in a relationship and had crossed over due to family objections. Later verification confirmed both were adults.
In the latest case, police are verifying the background and circumstances under which the couple crossed the international border.
