Amid the ongoing stir over Parshottam Rupala’s remarks on the Kshatriya community, one more BJP leader added fuel to fire by remarking on erstwhile rulers on Apr 22.

Rajesh Chudama, the BJP candidate for the Junagadh Lok Sabha seat, inaugurated the office at Visavdar in Junagadh on Apr 22.

At that event, district BJP president Kirit Patel who was also present, reportedly said, “There was a time in India when the king’s wife was differently abled, but the son who was born from her womb became the king, and now the king is born from the ballot box.”

Patel's statement reportedly surprised the audience that was present at the event, too.

The controversial comment comes amid an ongoing Kshatriya agitation over BJP's LS candidate Parshottam Rupala's comments, who also made a comment on the rulers of Gujarat at a public event in Rajkot last month.

The Kshatriya community protests have launched a statewide campaign to raise awareness against the BJP, despite multiple apologies from Rupala.
