AMTS rams into bullock cart in Krishnanagar, elderly man, bull injured, locals vandalise bus

An Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) bus driver caused a major accident in the Krishnanagar area of the city on Wednesday, ramming into a bullock cart and leaving an elderly man and a bull injured.

The incident took place on the road leading from Sardar Chowk towards Vijay Park, when the AMTS bus, reportedly being driven at considerable speed, collided with a slow-moving bullock cart, officials said.

According to eyewitnesses, the impact of the collision was severe, leaving an elderly man, who was steering the bullock cart and the bull with significant injuries. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, the police added.

The accident triggered widespread outrage amongst local residents, who gathered at the scene in large numbers. In a fit of anger, the mob vandalised the AMTS bus, smashing its windows and causing extensive damage to the vehicle before the police could intervene.

A police team rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Till now no case has been registered in the matter.
