Drunk man steals AMTS bus
Tushar Bhatt, a former bus driver, was found to be rash driving an AMTS bus near Nehru Bridge’s Chand Shahid Dargah late at night, when suddenly he parked the vehicle in the middle of the road.
After a traffic congestion, locals checked upon the driver, who was found to be in an inebriated state. The police control room was informed, and Bhatt was held.
Police got to know of his identity and informed the family, who explained that Bhatt is mentally unfit.
Police probe revealed Bhatt had stolen the bus from the depot, and was headed to the city’s Ashram Road.
A case has been filed by the private bus operators in Karanj police station over this theft.
Bhatt is accused of being a repeat offender. On Feb 14, he was nabbed from Kanipur in Dehgam for stealing a bus from Krishnanagar depot. After which his family members had presented a similar argument of his mental state.
