Amreli teacher accused of molesting two class 4 students

A school teacher in Amreli has been accused of physically abusing two Class 4 students over the past eight days.
The teacher would call the students to his office and physically abuse them. Following a police complaint, the teacher was arrested.
As per reports, Mahendra Patel who teaches at Bharat Nagar Primary School has been accused of molesting two Class 4 students.
After learning about the incident, parents are terrified, questioning the safety of schools—places meant for learning are proving to be unsafe for children.
The police have arrested the accused and launched an investigation. He has been booked under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.
Just two months into the new year, Gujarat has seen a significant number of physical assault/abuse cases, with many involving minors and occurring in places where women are assumed to be safe.
These are just the reported instances; many cases likely go unreported.
On February 18, a Gujarat University student filed a complaint against a fellow student who repeatedly threatened and blackmailed her.
In one instance, a class 9 girl was allegedly raped by a senior student at her school on February 14 in Rajkot. It was later revealed by the survivor that her stepfather had also raped her on February 6.
On February 12, an incident came to light where a teacher, under the pretense of celebrating a birthday, took a student to his farmhouse and sexually assaulted her.
On February 7, a minor was drugged and sexually assaulted in Ahmedabad.
The Dariapur police in Ahmedabad arrested an accused in a case involving the rape and sexual assault of a minor under the POCSO Act. The accused had been abusing his 14-year-old daughter for nearly a year, leading to her pregnancy. The crime came to light when the minor girl delivered a baby girl at Civil Hospital in Asarwa on February 5.
