Amraiwadi police arrest two women for stealing gold ornaments from jewellery shop

The Amraiwadi police in Ahmedabad have arrested two women for allegedly stealing gold ornaments from a jewellery shop and escaping without detection. Gold pieces worth over ₹90,000 have been recovered from them.
According to police, on routine patrol they received a tip-off from Jyoti Jewellers on Ambika Road in Amraiwadi. The team swiftly intercepted the two suspects and recovered 24 pieces of gold ornaments of different designs weighing a total of 8.89 grams, valued at ₹90,861.
The arrested women have been identified as Suniben Devipujak (35), and Jyotsnaben Devipujak (37). Both are residents of Dholka in Ahmedabad district.
An FIR has been registered at Amraiwadi police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for theft. Officials said the swift action of the surveillance squad helped detect and solve the case before the stolen items could be disposed of.
Police said further investigation is underway to determine whether the two women were involved in similar offences elsewhere.
