Traffic congestion has become a growing headache for the people all over India, worsening with each passing day. Now a recent report has revealed that Amdavadis waste an average of 73 hours (3 days) a year stuck in traffic during peak hours.

In the list of Indian cities where commuters spend the most time in traffic, Bengaluru tops the chart with 117 hours, while Ahmedabad ranks at 11.

According to a recent study that analysed real-time traffic conditions using GPS data, Ahmedabad and Mumbai commuters take an average of 29 minutes to travel 10 kilometers during peak hours. Based on traffic congestion levels.

It is followed by Hyderabad, 32 minutes and Chennai, 30 minutes. The difference in travel time between Kolkata and Ahmedabad was just six minutes.

Ahmedabad’s major traffic hot zones stretch from Vastrapur and Juhapura in the west to Lal Darwaza and Kalupur in the east, where the average vehicle speed drops drastically to 18.5 km/h in the morning and even further to 17.4 km/h in the evening.

In central areas such as Paldi, Gymkhana, and Danapith, commuters experience traffic delays that mirror the city’s overall average travel time.
