AMC’s food department seizes 244 kg of suspicious paneer in Ahmedabad

The food department of Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC)  has seized 244 kg of suspicious paneer worth around ₹67,000. Officials also sealed a food unit after finding that paneer substitute was being used without mentioning it on their menu.

According to the department, a total of 104 kg of suspicious paneer worth ₹36,400 was seized from Shri Krishna Dairy in Gota. Another quantity worth ₹31,300 was taken from Radhe Dairy in Naroda. 

A food unit named Bhairavnath Punjabi Tadka near Vastral was also sealed as it was using a paneer alternative but did not mention it on menu.

In another action, the Punjab Di Mahak outlet in Navrangpura, was sealed after dirt and number of insects were found in the kitchen. 

In last four days, the department took samples of a total of 188 food products, including 69 samples of paneer, 52 of milk products, 25 of non-veg products, and three of sugarcane juice, from various vendors in the city.
