Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) sealed one of the largest shopping malls, Bopal’s TRP Mall, due to reported misuse of various facilities, including girls’ PG, Fun Zone, Game Zone, and Mukta A-2 Cinema. 

The misuse, particularly exceeding the permitted usage on the fourth, fifth, and sixth floors, has prompted this action by the authorities.

On Mar 23, a fire occurred at the Sky Jumper Trampoline gamezone located in the B Wing of Bodakdev Word’s shopping mall. 

This incident drew the attention of the authorities, and the municipal corporation obtained the development permission and usage permission for phase-I, block-A, TRP Mall, and the owners of girls’ PG, Gamezone, and theatres on the fourth, fifth, and sixth floors.

A notice of ‘change of use’ has been issued to all these premises due to a breach of permission rules.

On Mar 28, Bopal Luxurious Girls PG, Funzone, Gamezone, and Mukta A-2 Cinema were closed and sealed by the AMC.

Plans for blocks A to N were approved by the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) in 2018. Mixed development phases 1–4 received revised approval from Auda on Feb 17, 2020.

An approval for 881 units in the TRP mall was obtained, however, at the time of the approval, the units numbered at 536 since some of them were merged.

Since June 2020, the TRP Mall has been included in the municipal boundaries of the city.
