AMC seals 6,526 properties to recover pending tax, ₹11.15 crore collected

Ahead of the March 31 deadline, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation launched an intensive drive to recover pending property tax. On Friday alone, a total of 6,526 residential and commercial properties were sealed.
The civic body recovered ₹11.15 crore through this action.
Zone-wise data shows that the highest number of properties 2,821 were sealed in the West Zone, followed by 1,432 in the Central Zone.
According to officials, recoveries across zones on Friday were as follows:
Central Zone: 1,432 properties sealed; ₹2.99 crore recovered
North Zone: 224 properties sealed; ₹86 lakh recovered
South Zone: 431 properties sealed; ₹1.55 crore recovered
East Zone: 362 properties sealed; ₹1.58 crore recovered
West Zone: 2,821 properties sealed; ₹1.50 crore recovered
North-West Zone: 1,170 properties sealed; ₹1.78 crore recovered
South-West Zone: 86 properties sealed; ₹89 lakh recovered
The total tax revenue of the corporation has now crossed ₹2,297.15 crore.
As of March 27, the corporation collected ₹1,764.10 crore from property tax and ₹271.46 crore from professional tax, achieving 101% and 100% of their respective targets. Additionally, vehicle tax collections stood at ₹235.68 crore, taking the overall tax revenue achievement to around 108%.
The aggressive recovery drive reflects the corporation’s push to maximise tax collection before the financial year ends.
