AMC seals 13 hospitals in South Zone for operating without BU permission, 27 served notices

Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Thursday sealed 13 hospitals in the South Zone for operating without Building Use (BU) permission. The civic body has also issued notices to 27 other hospitals, directing them to immediately provide valid BU documents.

According to AMC officials, the sealed hospitals were functioning in Maninagar, Khokhra, Lambha and Indrapuri areas. 

Hospitals sealed during the drive include: 

Abhishek Hospital (Maninagar)

Babycare Children Hospital (Khokhra), 

Dr Sameer N Shah Surgical Nursing Home (Maninagar), Aashirwad Eye Hospital (Khokhra) 

Heta Skin Clinic (Khokhra) 

Riyana Hospital (Lambha) 

Vatsalya Hospital (Vatva) 

Ved Multi-Speciality Hospital (Vatva) 

Rajput Eye Hospital (Indrapuri) 

Rajput Children Hospital (Indrapuri) 

Aashirwad Surgical Hospital (Indrapuri) 

Shreeji Surgical Hospital (Khokhra) 

Kunal Hospital (Khokhra).

AMC said the action was taken after repeated reminders and inspections revealed that the hospitals had been functioning without BU clearance, posing safety risks to patients. The civic body has begun further scrutiny and warned that strict action will continue against all establishments found violating building norms.
