AMC receives over 2,600 citizen suggestions for 2026-27 budget, roads, walkways, drainage top list

The Amdawad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has received 2,607 suggestions from citizens for its 2026-2027 budget as part of its annual participatory initiative to improve civic services.
Roads and walkways emerged as the most prominent concern, drawing 458 suggestions, followed by drainage and stormwater systems with 327 inputs. Water supply received 297 suggestions, while street lighting and electrical infrastructure accounted for 280.
Other key areas included health and sanitation (110), solid waste management (98), traffic (98), and housing (98). Citizens also provided feedback on schools, crematoriums, fire services, bridges, and various amenities. Additionally, 133 suggestions emphasised gardens, children's parks, oxygen parks, and tree plantation.
Public transportation under AMTS-AJL drew 80 inputs, and gyms and playgrounds were highlighted in 75 suggestions (2.88% of the total).
Of the submissions, 1,795 pertained to mandatory civic services, 788 to non-mandatory areas, 16 to revenue generation, and 8 to service improvements.
