AMC launches property tax interest waiver scheme till March 31

The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has rolled out an interest waiver scheme on pending property tax dues from January 1 to March 31, 2026. The scheme applies to outstanding dues excluding the 2025–26 tax bills and is expected to generate over ₹500 crore in revenue.

Under the scheme, residential property owners will receive up to 85% interest waiver in January, reduced to 75% by March, while commercial properties will get up to 65% waiver initially. 

Slum and chawl properties will be eligible for 100% interest waiver, while properties under the old tax formula will also receive full interest relief during the period.

AMC officials stated that interest on delayed property tax is normally charged at 18%, and the waiver aims to encourage defaulters to clear long-pending dues.
