AMC issues notices to 11 eateries for serving fake paneer

The Food Department of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has issued notices to 11 restaurants and dairy units for using analogue paneer instead of genuine milk paneer.

During inspections, officials collected samples of low-fat paneer, malai paneer, and regular paneer from these establishments. Laboratory tests later declared these samples substandard or non-compliant. Following this, legal action is being initiated against the units by filing cases before the adjudicating officer.

An administrative penalty of ₹3.26 lakh has also been recovered from these establishments.

Over the past week, the food department collected around 60 samples of paneer, milk, dairy products, lassi, and ice cream for testing. 

Additionally, 33 samples of milkshakes, sugarcane juice, sikanji, and ice gola were collected, 16 samples of pani puri water and stuffing were tested, 33 samples of spices and iodized salt were taken. In total, around 250 food samples were sent for laboratory analysis

Jay Gurudev Bhajipav, Bapunagar – Paneer

Meena Hari Foods, Maninagar – Low-fat paneer, hard malai paneer

Jay Bhavani Khana, Saraspur – Paneer

Baba Ramdev Dhaba, Ramol – Paneer

Jay Bhairavnath Tadka, Vastral – Paneer

Real Paprika, Relief Road – Malai paneer

Hotel Gamthi, Jagatpur – Paneer

Authorities have warned that strict action will continue against food adulteration and the use of substandard ingredients.
