Action against defaulters: 445 properties under lien, 100 set for auction
AMC continues to crack down on property tax defaulters. Despite repeated notices, several taxpayers failed to clear outstanding dues, prompting the corporation to seal properties and place them under lien in the Collector’s records a step that prevents owners from selling their properties.
In the current year, 445 defaulters’ properties have been placed under lien, 100 properties were listed for auction and 54 defaulters cleared their dues before the auction proceedings began.
AMC officials say that strict enforcement has helped boost tax recovery and ensured better compliance from property owners.
