All Ahmedabad public transport services to be connected on one platform

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Taxi to improve public transport connectivity by introducing a Mobility as a Service (MaaS) platform.
The initiative aims to allow commuters to plan and book multiple modes of transport through a single digital platform, making travel across Ahmedabad more convenient.

What is the MaaS platform?
Under the new system, passengers will be able to access:
AMTS
BRTS
Bharat Taxi
Bicycle services

AMC said Metro Rail and Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) services will also be integrated into the platform in the future.
Instead of using separate apps or booking systems, commuters will be able to plan their entire journey through a single booking.

Focus on first and last-mile connectivity
The project aims to improve first and last-mile connectivity across the city.
For example, passengers can:
Travel by bus or metro for the major part of the journey
Use a taxi or bicycle to reach their final destination

According to AMC, this is expected to:
Reduce travel time
Make public transport more convenient
Encourage greater use of public transport instead of private vehicles

Metro, GSRTC and bicycle services to be added
Rahul Sharma, General Manager of Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited (AJL), said discussions have already been held with Metro Rail and GSRTC authorities.

According to him:
Both organisations have agreed to join the MaaS platform
Official MoUs with Metro Rail and GSRTC will be signed soon
AMC has also signed an MoU with My Bike to integrate bicycle services into the platform

Bharat Taxi expands across Gujarat
The partnership is also part of Bharat Taxi's expansion across Gujarat.
The company has launched services in 14 major cities, including:
Ahmedabad
Gandhinagar
Surat
Vadodara
Rajkot
Bhavnagar
Jamnagar
Junagadh
According to AMC, the wider network will help travellers commute both within Ahmedabad and between cities.
Zero-commission model for drivers
Bharat Taxi operates on a zero-commission cooperative business model.

Under this model:
Drivers are stakeholders and owners
Drivers do not pay commission to the platform
The company says this model is expected to improve driver earnings while offering reliable and affordable transport services to commuters using the MaaS platform.

AMC's smart mobility vision
With this initiative, AMC aims to create an integrated urban transport system by bringing buses, taxis, bicycles, Metro Rail and GSRTC services onto one platform.
The civic body expects the project to improve public transport efficiency, reduce traffic congestion and promote sustainable urban mobility in Ahmedabad.
