AI171 debris to be recovered from crash site and investigated at Ahmedabad airport hangar

The debris from the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad will soon be recovered and transported to the airport hangar for detailed investigation, officials confirmed on Monday.
The London-bound Air India flight AI171 had crashed on June 12, which crashed on the BJ Medical College hostel building. The aircraft was carrying 242 passengers, with only one sole survivor, who was seated in seat 11A.
Authorities working at the crash site, ground zero staff, have been instructed to ensure that all debris and remains of the aircraft are brought to the hangar in their current condition, with no additional damage inflicted during the recovery process.
Once transported, experts plan to reconstruct the aircraft at the airport hangar as part of the ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
A team from Boeing arrived in Ahmedabad on Sunday and visited the crash site. They will now begin coordinating efforts to carefully shift the wreckage to the hangar.
There is growing urgency to complete the debris transfer swiftly, as rain is forecasted in Ahmedabad in the coming days. Investigators are concerned that further exposure to rain could compromise the integrity of crucial evidence, potentially hampering the investigation.
An airport hangar is a large building used for sheltering and maintaining aircraft.
