A bomb threat call allegedly originating from a Pakistani number caused panic at the Taj Skyline Hotel on Sindhu Bhavan Road late on Friday night, prompting an emergency response from multiple security agencies. Following a thorough two-hour search, police confirmed that no explosives were found on the premises.

According to officials, the call was received on the hotel’s landline around midnight. The caller reportedly threatened to “vacate the hotel in five minutes or face a bomb blast”. Security officer relayed the alarming message to the hotel’s Director of Security.

The Director of Security was at the hotel and immediately alerted the police control room. Within minutes, teams from the Sarkhej police station, the city crime branch, the bomb disposal squad, and a dog squad reached the scene and began a comprehensive search of the hotel premises.

“No suspicious objects or explosives were found during the operation,” a senior police official said, adding that the building was declared safe following the checks. The police said the threat was likely a hoax but added that investigations were underway to trace the caller.

A formal complaint has been lodged at the Sarkhej police station, and efforts are ongoing to verify the origin of the call and identify the individual responsible. Security at the hotel and the surrounding area has been heightened as a precautionary measure.
