Ahmedabad's Kankaria Lakefront saw 6.72 lakh visitors during summer vacation
Ahmedabad’s Kankaria Lakefront drew a massive footfall of 6.72 lakh visitors between April 27 and June 3 during the 2026 summer vacation season. According to data from the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC).
This steady influx of tourists has injected significant economic growth into the city. Local businesses are experiencing a major surge, with increased visitor spending providing a substantial boost to the hospitality, food and beverage, and retail sectors, while simultaneously creating new employment opportunities across Ahmedabad.
The iconic lakeside destination has witnessed an unprecedented surge in visitors, thanks to its diverse attractions including Kids City, Balvatika, the Nocturnal Zoo, and the Butterfly Park.
Officials state that this achievement aligns perfectly with the core objectives of the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) for Central Gujarat, scheduled to be held in Vadodara. The conference will place a special focus on harnessing the potential of tourism and culture to drive sustainable regional development, using Kankaria as a premier model for economic growth and effective city branding.
Authorities have ensured smooth operations with adequate security, cleanliness drives, and visitor facilities to handle the increased crowds.
