Ahmedabad Traffic Police declare new one-way routes near Kankaria

The Sarangpur bridge in Ahmedabad was closed from Jan 2, 2025, to June 30, 2036, for repair and maintenance.

The traffic diversion as a result of that caused further traffic congestion at Kankaria Anuvrat Circle, Parsi Agiyari and Vanijya Bhavan Circle. 

Addressing that, the Ahmedabad Traffic Police has announced approximately 600-800 m road from Lucknow Jalebi three-roads to Anuvrat Circle via Kankaria Gate No 3 as a one-way.

Road with restricted/diversion for vehicular traffic

The approximately 800-meter road from Lucknow Jalebi road to Kankaria Gate No 3 to Anuvrat Circle will be one-way.

Alternative route detail

1. Traffic coming from the football ground will be able to turn left from Kankaria Gate No 3, turn right from Lucknow Jalebi three road, turn left from Vanijya Bhavan Circle towards Kalupur or turn right from Anuvrat Circle towards Anupam bridge, Khokhara, Maninagar.

2. Traffic coming from Majurgam will be able to turn left from Parsi Agiyari, turn right from Lucknow Jalebi three road, turn right from Vanijya Bhawan Circle towards Anuvrat Circle to access Anupam bridge, Khokhra, Maninagar or Kankaria Gate No 3 towards Eka Club Arena Stadium.

3. Traffic coming from Raipur should turn left from Lucknow Jalebi three roads, turn right from Vanijya Bhavan Circle towards Anuvrat Circle.

Road with restricted/diverted traffic

The approximately 600-meter road from Anuvrat Circle to Vanijya Bhavan intersection, turning left to Lucknow Jalebi three roads, will remain one-way.

Alternative route detail

1. Traffic coming from Anupam Bridge, Khokhra, and Maninagar will be able to turn left from Anuvrat Circle and then right from Kankaria Gate No 3 and go towards Kalupur via Raipur.

2. Traffic coming from Kalupur and New Cloth Market will be able to go through Vanijya Bhavan Circle and then through Anuvrat Circle.

On the right side, from Kankaria Gate No 3, traffic will be able to go towards Bhulabhai and Majurgam from the football ground.
