In a dramatic turn of events, a 17-year-old boy from Ahmedabad was allegedly abducted by three of his friends after failing to return ₹9.40 lakh he had borrowed for a brief period. The Gujarat University police have arrested the accused and safely rescued the minor from Rajasthan.

According to police, the teenager had befriended Jaykishan Chaudhary, Mehul Bharwad and Pruthvi Vaghela at a local gym. On April 29, the minor reportedly borrowed ₹9.40 lakh from the trio, claiming he intended to invest the sum in the stock market and would return it within 90 minutes.

However, instead of returning the money, the teenager allegedly handed the amount over to his maternal uncle, who then transferred it via a local courier service (angadia) to a man named Harsh. When the three friends later met him near Gujarat University to retrieve their money, he failed to return it. In retaliation, the trio allegedly forced the teenager into a car and drove him to Rajasthan.

The incident came to light when the boy’s uncle returned to find him missing and his phone switched off. The family immediately informed the police and lodged a complaint at Gujarat University police station.

Following the complaint, police began questioning the minor’s friends and relatives. During the investigation, it emerged that the teenager had been abducted. The police swiftly tracked down the accused and rescued the boy, subsequently arresting the three men.

The arrested accused Jaykishan Chaudhary, Mehul Bharwad and Pruthvi Vaghela are aged between 19 and 22. During interrogation, they admitted to abducting the minor after he failed to return the borrowed money. The police stated that the group had initially taken the boy to Rajasthan and later returned to Ahmedabad, where they were apprehended.

Further investigation is underway to determine the full chain of events and trace the transferred funds.
