Ahmedabad SOG seizes mephedrone worth ₹12 lakh, accused arrested

In a significant operation against drug trafficking, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Ahmedabad Crime Branch arrested a 38-year-old man and seized 17 grams and 360 milligrams of Mephedrone along with other items worth ₹12.28lakh.

Acting on tip-off, a team of SOG, launched operations and nabbed the accused with drugs.

According to police sources, the accused, Jaikishan Dineshbhai Khandelwal, a resident of Chandkheda, was apprehended near Odhav crossroads, outside The Grand Vinayak Hotel, on January 30. He was allegedly in possession of the illegal narcotic substance without a valid permit.

Following the arrest, an FIR was registered at the Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) police station under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The investigation is currently being led by Police Sub-Inspector Z S Sheikh.
