Ahmedabad SOG seizes hybrid ganja worth ₹69 lakh from man driving Mercedes-Benz

The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Ahmedabad Crime Branch has arrested a 26-year-old man and seized hybrid ganja worth over ₹69 lakh along with a Mercedes-Benz car and other items collectively valued at nearly ₹80 lakh.
According to an SOG official, the accused was intercepted near Vijay Char Rasta, behind the Memnagar Fire Station during a patrolling operation carried out as part of an anti-narcotics drive in the city.
Police identified the accused as Hardik Ashokkumar Kalal, currently residing at Swastik Residency in Naranpura area of Ahmedabad. He is originally from Dungarpur district in Rajasthan.
Officials said the accused was found in possession of 1.975 kilograms of illegal hybrid ganja without any valid permit or authorisation. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth ₹69.12 lakh in the illicit market.
Apart from the narcotic substance, police also confiscated the Mercedes-Benz four-wheeler and other articles, taking the total value of the seizure to ₹79.67 lakh.
A case has been registered at the DCB Police Station under sections of the NDPS Act. Further investigation has been handed over to Police Inspector K D Gohil.
