Ahmedabad Rural LCB seizes liquor worth ₹5.64 lakh in Sanand

The Ahmedabad Rural Local Crime Branch (LCB) has seized a large consignment of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) along with the vehicle worth over ₹23.74 lakh from the Sanand Police Station area.
During patrolling, police personnel received a specific tip-off that a Toyota Fortuner vehicle transporting a large quantity of liquor was heading towards Sanand from the Thol side. Based on the information, a police team set up a blockade near the Nidhraad railway crossing bridge in the Sanand town police station limits.
During the operation, police intercepted a Toyota Fortuner and recovered 4,368 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor from the vehicle.
Officials said the seized liquor was valued at ₹5.64 lakh, while the total value of the seized muddamal, including the vehicle and other materials, was estimated at ₹23.74 lakh.
A prohibition offence has been registered at Sanand Police Station and further investigation is under way to identify the source and intended destination of the liquor consignment, police said.
