Ahmedabad rural LCB nabs two notorious burglars, recovers cash, firearm and stolen bike

The Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Ahmedabad Rural has arrested two serial offenders involved in multiple burglary and vehicle theft cases. The accused, both from Rajasthan, were apprehended as part of an intensified crackdown on undetected crimes in the district.
Acting on a tip-off, a team detained the duo from the Vivekanandnagar area. During interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in several crimes spanning Ahmedabad and Rajasthan. Items worth over ₹2.25 lakh were recovered, including a Yamaha motorcycle, ₹1.45 lakh in cash, and a 32-calibre pistol.
The accused have been identified as Anil Hamji Kharadi, of Salumbar district, Rajasthan and Bhavesh Lalji Khant, of Dungarpur district, Rajasthan. According to police, the men confessed to a burglary at a bungalow in Vatva, where they stole ₹1.10 lakh, and a motorcycle from Ghatlodia.
Anil has an extensive criminal record, with over 20 cases registered against him in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Cases have been registered at several police stations, including Krishnanagar, Odhav, Nikol, and Bodakdev in Ahmedabad, as well as in multiple locations across Rajasthan, such as Sarada, Hirani Magari, and Pratapnagar. His associate, Bhavesh, is also wanted in a 2023 burglary case registered at the Bodakdev police station.
Items recovered include a 32 calibre pistol used in the Vivekanandanagar burglary, ₹1.45 lakh in stolen cash and a motorcycle, stolen from Ghatlodia, valued at ₹80,000
Both accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and remanded for further investigation. Police believe the arrests may lead to the resolution of other unsolved thefts in the region.
